BetMGM, FanDuel Top Winners At 2022 American Gambling Awards

The Gambling.com Group’s American Gambling Awards were presented in New York City on Thursday, with some of the biggest names in the US gaming industry taking home top honors.

FanDuel was named Online Sportsbook of the Year, beating out Caesars and DraftKings for the coveted award. BetMGM also had a big night, taking home the Online Casino of the Year award.

The American Gambling Awards are one of the gaming industry’s most prestigious awards ceremonies, and this year’s event was no exception. With so many top operators and suppliers in attendance, it was a truly star-studded affair.

A Reflection Of Hardwork In The iGaming Industry

The American Gaming Association (AGA) handed out its annual Golden Eagle Awards Thursday night, recognizing the best and brightest in the gaming industry. The 12 recipients came from varying backgrounds, specialties, and nationalities, but shared a collective sense of satisfaction in receiving the praise of their colleagues.

Matt Prevost, who serves as the chief revenue officer at BetMGM, called winning the Online Casino of the Year award the result of teamwide work ethic, expressing gratitude and satisfaction in receiving such an honor from the AGA’s judges.

Prevost, in a company press release, said: “This award is reflective of the hard work of many who are dedicated to setting a high standard in iGaming, As the top iGaming operator in North America, we remain focused on continuing to provide our customers with innovative gaming experiences, working with premiere exclusive partners and providing a world-class omnichannel experience.”

A Great Honor For Data Service Provider And Policymakers

Sportradar Chief Commercial Officer Eduard Blonk called winning a Golden Eagle a great honor while expressing his gratitude to the iGaming industry insiders who made up the judging committee. “This award is a recognition of the excellent service we offer to our customers and provides further testimony to the industry-leading work we have done this past year,”

For officials, like Addabbo, being awarded a Golden Eagle demonstrates that taking the time to legalize mobile sports betting will eventually pay off.

“It is an honor to be named Policymaker of the Year by the American Gambling Awards,” Addabbo said. “Bringing quality, regulated, and safe gaming options to the residents of New York has been a major legislative goal of mine, and to see it expand so successfully is incredible. It is through the hard work of my office team and my legislative partners that we were able to bring legal mobile sports betting to the state, and the benefits are already beginning to be witnessed.”
